A match for the Nye Perns was played yesterday afternoon, when (lie challenging team, skipped by Thomson, managed to score a win over the holders after a hardfought. game. The details are as follow: —
Challengers: Parkin, Garbctt, Huntley, Thomson (s) 23; holders: Hinds/ R. Reay, Newth, Ileppner (s) 17.
On Wednesday of next weak the annual visit of Manawatn Centre to Wellington will take place. Games will be played both morning and afternoon. Local howlers wishing to make the trip should post their names on the board at the pavilion not later than Saturday. Special cheap railway fares will obtain for those visiting the city to take part, in the above.
