At Palmerston North last night before a fair audience, Artie Hay, middle and welter champion of the Dominion, decisively defeated Lauhie McDonald, ex-middleweight champion of New Zealand and Australia, in a challenge for the middleweight champion.u The TaranaJki Boxing Association yesterday received word by telegram that Pete Sarron would not
fight Tommy Donovan, as arranged on March Ist, and the association’s solicitor took steps in connection with the association’s claim against Sarron for £9O damages for breach of contract. On the ground that it was believed Sarron was about to leave for Australia, a warrant was issued.
