t Invercargill, February 18. In the --Supreme Court the jury i returned a verdict of not guilty - against D’Arcy Kerr,, a farm labourer, who was charged with rape ) on a girl of seventeen, who rel fused to reply when asked whether i stie consented. The Crown Prosecutor said that lie did not propose to carry the case further. His Honour remarked that it would lie unsafe, even highly dangerous, to record a conviction.
