■Miss Ashby left yesterday for Dunedin on holiday. Mr. Alex, Ross, who has taken up his temporary residence in Auckland, is on a brief visit to Foxton. Mrs. Huntley senr., of Featherston, is on a visit to her son, Mr. I'd. \V. Huntley, of Whittaker St.
Mr. and Mrs. \Y. Hart, of Park Street, are spending a holiday in Gisborne. Mr. \V. Wilson leaves this evenin"' on a holiday visit to the Rotorua district.
Miss Avis Barnett, who has been spending' her holidays with her parents in Foxton, has returned to Auckland.
Mr. and Mrs. L. Woodbury, of Wellington, who have been spending a few days holiday in Foxton, left on Mondav for Napier, after which they intend motoring back to Wellington via the Wairarapa.
Miss Margaret Barron, who has been selected to represent Manawatu at the Wellington Provincial athletic championship meeting to be held at Petoiic on Saturday, left for Wellington yesterday.
The friends of Mr. N. Cresswell will regret to learn that lie will be compelled to again enter the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday merston North Hospital next week for treatment.
The Rev. J. H. Edmundson, recently in charge of the Foxton Methodist circuit and who retired to take up farming pursuits, lias had lo abandon the idea for health reasons. Mr. Edmondson is now resident at Haleombe, where he lias again taken up church work. Miss Vitla Barron, M.A., lecturer in French at the University of Otago, who lias been furthering her studies for the past eighteen months nt. the Forbonne University, Paris, returned to New Zealand by i lie Matiganui last week and is spending a few days in Foxton with her brother. Mr. D. R. Barron. Mr. W. C. Nation, of Levin, celebrated his !)lst. birthday oil Tuesday, when he received the hearty congratulations of many friends, who found the veteran journalist surprisingly alert and well-preser-ved, despite his great age. Mr. Ilornblow, of Foxton, stowed his apprenticeship under Mr. Nation and had the remarkable experience <»f working side by side at the ‘‘case” with the veteran journalist's late father who was then capably and happily carrying on despite his tour score years.
