JANUARY AYIORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during- the month of January was 385,0.00 ft., which with the amount in the holder on January Ist Hi,600. ft. made a total of 401,600 ft. During the month 331,100 ft. was used by consumers, 21,000 ft. at the works and there was 17,300 ft. tin the holder on January 31st, making a total of 360,400 ft. accounted for and leaving 32,20011. representing S per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-two tons, lOewt. of coal were carbonised, yielding 11,830 c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 7 tons 10 ewt. of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £2lO 14/1 and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £2O 16/2, heat and power £l3O 8/9, coke sales £ls 5/2, tar sales £4l 4/-, services and fittings £2 11/-, miscellaneous 9/-. The expenditure for the month totalled £263 12/5 and was made up as follows: —-Coal £Bl 5/3, salaries and wages £49, services and fittings £3O 12/4, tools £2 14/-, cartage and freight £2 8/6, oxide £32 16/1, working expenses £1 9/-, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7/3.
