Enlightenment on an important legal point was given bv His Honour Mr. .Justice Reed in the Supreme Court yesterday during the hearing of a ease of alleged bigamy. "There is an impression I have come across that seven years’ absence without knowledge annuls a marriage,” said His Honour. “It does nothing of the kind. All it does is that it enables a person to set that up as a defence in ease of a charge of bigamy. No matter how long the parties have been absent from each other, it does not render a second marriage legal.
