ROAD CYCLE RACING.

Five riders competed in a one mile road cycle race on Tuesday evening for the purpose of selecting a rider to represent Foxton at the Provincial meeting to be held at an early date. The race which ensued was particularly good and resulted as follows: — W. Hussey ’ 1 G. Aldridge 2 E. Robinson 3 Also started, ,J. Smith and F. Wallbutton. Won by two lengths, half a length between second and third. Time 3.0 2-5 (for mile and a fifth). At the conclusion of the above a sweepstake (3 laps) was run, all .the above riders competing. This event resulted as follows: J. Smith 1 W. Hussey 2 E. Robinson 3 Won by half a length, same distance between second and third.

The selection of the representative has not yet been made, being left to the sub-centre to decide.
