MOTOR CYCLE AND LORRY COLLIDE.
YOUNG FOXTON LADY
INJURED.
Miss Turi Better, daughter of Mrs. J. Getter, of Goley Street, had a narrow escape from fatal injury on Sunday. She was riding a motor cycle, on the pillion of which was the owner, Afr. J. Peck, of Palmerston North, and was negotiating one-way bridge in the vicinity of Ota'ki behind a lorry when that veliicle pulled up suddenly owing to another car running- on to the bridge. The cycle crashed into the rear of the lorry and -Miss Getter sustained severe facial abrasions and injuries to her chest aud leg. jtlr Peek was more fortuate and escaped with injuries to his hand. Miss Getter was conveyed to the Otaki Hospital where it was ascertained that she had sustained a broken nose. She received medical attention after which she was conveyed to her home in a car. She 'is now reported to be making good urogress towards recovery although she is badly bruised about the
