LIFE SAVING TEAM.
INITIAL STEPS TAKEN IN FORMATION OF CLUB.
.A meeting of all intei*ested in the tornuition of a Life Saving Squad La- beach patrol was held at the seaside on Sunday, but was not largely attended. Air. M. E. Perron u (chairman of the Beach Improvement Committee) was voted to the chair and as convenor outlined 'lie object of the meeting.
It was decided to form a Life Saving team and Mg. A. Alsop (Manawatu Heads) was elected leader of the Patrol and Air. A. B. MeCorkindale secretary. All those vs ho had handed in their names were elected a provisional commitlee.
A donation of £1 was received with thanks from MY. Whitehead (Palmerston North). The Club is holding its first genual meeting at the baths to-mor-iow evening at ,7.30 o’clock, and an invitation is extended to all interested to attend.
