FOXTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.

The above school re-opened yesterday after the summer vacation. Roll numbers are as follows:—

Primary department, 391; secondary department, 50; side school 41; total roll, 482. Attendance is not what is should be—quite a. number of children not having yet returned to school.

There have been some staff chan : gcs. Mr. Bastion, appointed to succeed Mr. Chipper, lias been attached to the side school, tilling the postilion held by Miss Pizelle, who has been appointed elsewhere. Miss Mareliant is relieving in the infant department, pending Miss Mountfort’s return while Miss H. Spring has taken np duty as a probationary assistant: and Mr. A. Murphy and Miss M. Yorkc have joined the staff as probationers. Miss G. M. Allen is tilling the position of acting-infant mistress.
