ROAD CYCLING RACING.
A fifteen mile road cycle race was held last evening by I lie Foxlon Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club which attracted a good number of local residents into Main Street to witness the finish. The race was very disappointing as the competitors did not appear to he triers. There was no effort put into the finish by the first two riders who cycled casually up Alain Street together. The public can hardly be expected to support, road racing if in the future they are to be provided with exhibit ions of a similar calibre to that of last evening. The race resulted as follows:- — E. Robinson (25sec.) 3 IT. Hussey (ser.) 2 G. Aldridge (45see.) 3 J. Smith was fourth. There were mly four competitors. As a result of the proposed meeting of the Club which was to have been held to-morrow evening clashing with other fixtures the meeting has been postponed until next Tuesday evening.
