WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
* At Wednesday’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board it was decided to grant, subsidies towards erecting dental clinics at Taihape and Patea. The following resignations were received: Miss A. E. Fletcher, assistant, Mosstow; Miss V. Savage, sole teacher, Glytiealh; Miss A. N. Harris, assistant, Owhango; Mr. N. Martin, head teacher, Makino ltd.; Miss M. K. Elliott, assistant, Htinlerville; Mists E. M. Doyle, assistant, Maxwell; Miss A. Hickson, sole teacher, Moukahii. The resignation of Mrs. E. Orgies, who has been assistant at Aslihursf, and who now retires, was received with regret, and a. letter thanking her'.L'or her excellent, services is to be sent. The following appointments were confirmed: B. J. Watkins, infant; mistress, Manchester Street; R. C. Seaton, infant mistress, Taihape; P. Duncan, Victoria .Avenue, Wanganui. It was reported that all arrangements in connection with the health camp at Anvapnni were finalised. Mr. Coleman was asked to inspect and report on sites offered the board for a permanent health camp. The employment of married women teachers was discussed briefly. Mr, .]. K. Hornblow expressed the opinion that when their husbands could support them and their families, married women should not be appointed to position by I lie board if there were other suitable applicants. lie gave notice to •move accordingly at the next meeting.
