HORTICULTURAL.
The treasurer’s statement in connection with the Levin Horticultural Society’s Summer 'Show was , submitted as follows at last week’s meeting 1 : Total receipts£24 2/- (entry fees £l2 14/-), door takings £9 3/-, tea rooms £2 5/-. Other receipts were: .Members’ subscjrip- „ tions <£23 5/-, donations £3 13/(1, cash in hand £1 8/-, the total being £52 8/6. The expenses totalled £49 4/9 (prize money £25, hall rent £3 5/-, printing and advertising £9 6/6, labour £2 19/-, judges’ expenses and fees £4 4/-, postages and sundries £4 10/3). There was also a liability for new bench draping of about £3, so that nothing was in hand for .the autumn show lor which £ls to £2O was required. The. Levin Society’s Autumn Show will be held on March 3rd, next year. The 'Society intends giving consideration to the holding of special shows at which some one of the more important groups of flowers will be featured.
