PERSONAL.
Mr. and Mi’s. I. Ross are spending the holidays with Mi*, and Mrs. John Boss, of Thynne Street. Mr. and Mrs. J. Senior, of Christchurch, are at present on holiday in Foxton. The engagement s announced of . Rita, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perreau, of Foxton, to Bert, youngest son of the Rev. David Campbell, of Outram, Dunedin. A very happy and pleasant family re-union took place locally during Christntas when the tAvo sons of Mrs. S. A. Wallace, of the Manawatu Hotel, visited Foxton for the purpose of spending Christmas with their mother. The occasion was made all the more joyful in vieAv of the fact that the youngest •son, Mr. Frank Beirne Avas a mem--her of the crew of the ill-fated Manuka and for the safety of whom Mrs. Wallace had spent some anxious hours last Aveek. .The eldest son, Mi*. Henry Beirne, hails from Waverley. The brothers spent a happy time making acquaintances and in reneAving college friendships with Mr. M. B. Bergin and others.
