DRUN K IN CHARGE.
Gisborne, December 27,
'Before Magistrate Harper this morning a lorry driver named Albert Edward Simpson pleaded guilty to being found in charge of a lmrry at an early hour in the morning while in a state of intoxication. The police stated accused was convicted of a similar offence in -Idand on May 18th, 1921 and is license was then cancelled for two. years. The Magistrate said the offence was serious and accused did not appear to take notice of his previous warning. Accused Avas fined £ls, his license was cancelled and he was declared unfit to hold a license for two years.
At the Wellington Magistrate’s Court yesterday Hofrace Robinson, a seed merchant, Avas lined £2O and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months on a charge of being drunk while in charge of a oar on ’Xmas Eve. ' t Invercargill, December 27. In the Magistrate’s Court this morning, AhdreAV Moir, farmer, residing at Morton Mains, Avas charged with being found in a state of intoxication while in' charge of a motor-ear on the north road. A line of £lO Avas imposed.
