CHRISTMAS PARTY.

The local Returned Soldiui's’ Committee entertained. over 200 children and their mothers at a monster ’Xapas party in the Town Hall on Saturday. The proceedings opened with a comedy picture and on its conclusion Father Christmas made his entry via a chimney and fi/eplace set on the stage. He then presented every child with o present suitable to his or her age and sex. At the conclusion of the presentations the children and their mothers were given afternoon tea, drinks, ice crpams, etc., in the sup-per-room. 'The whole afternoon was a great success, and reflects great credit on the soldiers’ committee, particularly the ladies who worked so hard in preparing and serving the sumptuous repast.-
