YULETIDE CELEBRATION AT WHITAUNUI.

CiHRISTALLS DINNER AT THE AHLL.

On Thursday evening the management and boarders at Wjhitaunm mill, Moutoa, were entertained to a Christmas dinner by the caterers, Mr. and Mrs. J. Martin. The dining room was tastefully decorated for the occasion and a sumptuous repast filled the festive hoard. During the evening musical and vocal items were contributed by Airs. Davey (piano), and Atessrs Reader, Hirini, Read, Robinson and Thornton. The toast list was as folio\vs: —“The King,” Ah*. Afason; “Host and Hostess,” proposed by Air. Davey, response, Air. Martin j “Whitaunui Ltd.,” proposed by All*. Cullen, response Mr. A. Thompson; “Our Oldest Identity,” proposed by Air*. Thompson, response Mr. Cullen;' “The Cook House Staff,” proposed by Mr. Afason, response, Mr. Mitchell; and, “The Men of the Drainage Board,” proposed by Mr. Thompson, response Mr. Tucker. Everyone spent a most enjoyable evening and the celebration brought a fitting close to the yeajr’s activities.

The. mill will re-open the day after New Year.
