FLYING ACCIDENT.
FUNERALS OF VITOMS,
Auckland, December 15,
The funerals of Captain D. Ilarikness and Mr. C. F. Goldsbro, ' who lost their lives in the crash of the Dornieir-Libelle flying-boat of Milford Beach on Thursday evening, were very 'largely attended yesterday.' The service was held in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Parnell, before the departure of the funeral of Captain Harkness. The church was almost (filled and those present'included Mi’. Walter F. Boyle (Ame-
rican Consul), Major L. M. Isitt and (Captain. S. Wallingford, of Hobsonville Air Base, Captain G. Folkard, of the New Zealand Artillery. Mr*. G. E. Plane, representing the Returned Soldiers’ Association, and many other military and educational representatives. There was also a large attendance of pilots and members of the Auckland Aero Club. About 50 motor-cars followed the cortege to the graveside, where the service was conducted by Canon W. Fancourt. The pillars at the entrance to the university science building were draped in black during the week-end. The funeral of Mr. Goldsbro was attended by a number of representatives of aquatic clubs. He had been a member of the New Zealand „ Power Boat Association for many vears.
