PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The usual monthly meeting of the Plunfcet Society was held on the sth inst., at the conclusion of a special meeting to meet Dr. Der.reek. Present: —Mesdames F. Robinson (chair), Christie, Trueman, Walton, Bain, Perreau, Martin, Adams, Doel, Edwards, Fergusson end IBarron (hon. sec.) Apologies were received from , Mesdames F. Procter, Banker and Wl Smith* Accounts amounting to 4/11 were passed for payment. Tenders for the new building were received as fallows:—Townsend, £679; Jackson, £748,10/-; Hunt, £796; Tpllison, £825 15/-; Stamberg, £890; Rockel, £1212. 'Considerable discussion ensued and it was decided that owing to the lowest tender being- nearly £2OO above the amount in hand, that the building fluid be left at fixed deposit for 12 Months or until such time as there is enough money in hand to proceed with the worir.

It was decided to hold a shop stall and “flannel” dance at the beach on January llth.

The president, Mrs- F. Robinson, ' desires to offer through the press, season’s greetings to all members of the Plunket 'Society and Advisory Board.
