FOXTON AMATEUR ATHLETIC AND CYCLING CLUB.
A meeting of the above Club was held in Air. 11. Hamer’s shop last night. Air. 11. Hamer was voted to the chair and also present were: Messrs R. Ball -E. Robinson, L. Cart eir, J. Francis, €. McCarthy, J. Smith, F. Wlallbntton, C. Vickery, C. R. Pedersen and the secretary (Air. L. A. Couch).
Mr. L. iCoueh intimated his intention of again joining the ranks of the competitors and resigning his position as handicapper. Air. H. Hamer was appointed to (ill the vacancy. The Chairman reported that he had received the following donations for the Club: AT ess vs Reynolds and Co., electric light set.; United Cycle and Motor Traders Co., Ltd., an acetylene lamp. The trophies were accepted with thanks, the meeting deciding that the trophies be raced for over distances of three, five, tern and fifteen miles, the trophies to be first and second respectively, the Club donating another trophy valued at 7/6 for third prize. It was decided to hold a three mile event on Wednesday, 18th inst. It was resolved that in future all races commence at 6.30 pun. sharp. A large numbelr of runners and' intending runners were in attendance. at the meeting who expressed their desire to join up with the Club and participate in any events that the Club might see fit to put on for them. It was decided to hold a men’s 100 yards race and a ladies’ 75 yards on the 18th inst. at 6.30 p.m., Alessrs D. R. Barron and J. Wyeth being appointed handle a ppers for the events.
At the close of the meeting L. King and J. Smith were presented with the trophies they had won during the last series of races.
