THE FOXTON LUNCH CLUB
The Foxton Lunch Club came in for some complimentary remarks at the smoke concert held last Friday evening. Key. W. H. Walton, in paying a. tribute to the activities of Mr. A. E. Scott in connection with this body said that the Club had been in existence a little over twelve [months and had proved itself an excellent' organisation for a town of this size. As a result of the formation of the Club citizens were enabled to meet socially and spend, a very profitable hour each month. The Lunch Club was a wonderful mine of information. It was not possible for many business people to read up different subjects owing to business ties, yet at the Lunch Club information of an instructive nature was dispensed iy a palatable form in a few concise words each month on different topics by men who had their subjects at their linger tips. There was always food for thought at the Lunch Club meetings which did much to broaden the minds of those who attended.
