THEFT OF GENERATOR.
ACCUSED PLACED ON PROBATION.
SUPPRESSION OE NAME REFUSED.
At the local S.M. Pourt this morning before Air J. L. Stout, S.AL, Arthur Lord was charged by the police with the theft of a motor cycle generator valued at £l3 17/-, the property of Eric Woodfield, at Rangiohi on September 24th. Accused pleaded guilty and elected to be dealt Avith summarily.
(Constable Owen said a ball \\;as held at liangiotu on the night in question. Woodfield rode a motorcycle to the dance and during the evening the generator was taken off the machine. Enquiries were prosecuted and the generator was discovered on accused’s, motorbike. Accused Avas previously of good character.
Asked if he had anything to say, accused asked that his name be suppressed as his mother was an invalid. Ilis age was 20 years. The Magistrate said he would not suppress accused’s name as the case was one of deliberate theft. He AV-ould, however, place him on probation for 12 months.
