SWIMMING
Although the local baths have been open for some time they have not been very well patronised, due to the unsettled and cold weather.
A meeting of the Manawatu Swimming Centre was held in Palmerston North this week.
'The question of holding a. centre carnival in a town outside of Palmerston North —probably Da linevirke or Levin —was discussed at length, it eventually 'being decided to leave the matter in the hands of the chaii-man, seci-etary and the delegate coneejrned. The allocation of Championships was finalised, Foxton being granted the ladies’ 50 yards.
It was resolved that it be a recommendation to all-Palmerston N. Chibs that a “Learn to Swim” week be inaugurated eai-ly in the. New Year.
