FLETCHER SHIELD MATCH,
Yesterday afternoon four rinks from Foxton Club visited Palmerston North green to try conclusions for the Fletcher Shield. Foxton did not make a good showing, their opponents winning three games out of the four, the aggregates being Palmerston North 101 ,• Foxton 59. The following are the rinks: — Palmerston North: Aitken, Rudkin, Griggs, Jones (s) 21; Robinson, Walton, Huntley, Mat tar (s) 14. Hansel, Hogan, Griffin, Ross (s) 37; Hinds, Stevenson, Newtli, Christie (s) 15. Foxton: J. Reay, Jas. Ross, Heves, Thomson (s) .18; Wilson, Crouchei-, ißoon, Paton (s) 14. Bolday, Frew, Bayliss, Ramsay (s) 29 ; Parkin, Hamer, Walker, Woods (s) 12. At the conclusion of play the president of the home club expressed pleasure at the visit of Foxton bowlers, and trusted they had had an enjoyable day’s outing. Cheers were then given for the visitors.
Air. Heves (president) returned thanks on behalf of Foxton bowlqrs, and stated that although unsuccessful on this occasion, they hoped to return at some future date and secure the Shield. Cheers were given for Palmerston North howlers.
