Tbe appointment of tbe Hon. T AI. Milford, K.C., as High Commissioner for New Zealand in succession to the lion. Sir James Parr,
whoso term.of office expires on December 31 next, was announced yesterday by the Prime Minister (the 'Kigiit Hon. 'Sir Joseph Ward). Mr. Wilford will leave for England on December 7 to take up his new duties in London. “There have been- only two ambitions in my life,” Mr. Wilford remarked after the announcement had been made. > “One which I conceived as a boy, was to become a K.O. That was fulfilled some days ago. The other, which I conceived in 1903, when I first visited England, was to become New Zealand’s representative at, Home. I have got them both now, so I ought to he happy.”
