YOUNG PEOPLE’S DEMONSTRATION.
A most successful Young Peoples Annual Demonstration was held by the Salvation Army during the v eek-eiid.- The special services on Sunday which",,were, conducted by Staff Captain 'Hayes, Divisional Commander, assisted by Envoy Olsen, of Wellington, were well attended. The singing of the child - lon was excellent . and reflected great credit on Mrs. Ensign Matheson who was responsible for their training. On Monday .night the annual demonstration and prize distribution took place in the Ma ■ sonic Hall and was attneded by a large and appreciative audience, who were rewarded by an excellent Jti'ogramme ,whie'h reflected great credit on those responsible .far the training of the children. -Staff 'Captain Hayes presided in his usual happy style. The programme was as follows :
Opening song, . “The wide, wide world;” Primary, “Only little tots are we,” and Nursery Rhymes; pianoforte duet, N. and, V. Botalroffc; rod drill, Guards; recitation, A. Craig; hoop drill, Girls; dialogue, Guardis; recitation!, Ida Coley; tableau, “Near My God to Thee;-’ “Awkward gquad,” Boys; song, “The Dairymaids;” dialogue, “The Trials of a School Teacher;’?: violin solo, Miss Florrie Symon; diajogue, “Lulu’s Picture;” solo, A, Craig, “Jimmie deajr, you’ll have to tend the Baby;” dialogue, “One hour for me;” recitation, Fay Andrew; tableau, “Ora Pro Nobis;” Gordon iStone, solo.
