Air. J. IL -Reid -was 1 welcomed as a visitor at the monthly meeting of the Foxton Lunch Club to-day.
Air. and Mrs. ,J. -11. Reid, who have now returned to New Zealand after some years in Australia, arc at present visiting their son, Mr. 11. J. Reid, of Foxton.
•Dr. Julius P. De Vilnits, of Lyons, France, iwho is making a world tour, visited the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday. In conversation with the chairman, the doctor expressed surprise at the 1 completeness of the institution and complimented the Board and district upon possessing such a fine mid well-administered hospital.
Reference was made to the departure from Foxton of Mr. A. E. Scot I at the monthly-meeting of the Foxton Lunch Club to-day. -The chairman (Rev. J. H. Edmondson) referred to Air. iScott’s active association with the Club ever since its inception and on behalf of its in embers extended to him their best, wishes for his future happiness and, prosperity. A: Highland wedding was celebrated gj St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North yesterday, the contracting parties were Elspetli, daughter of Air. and Mrs. N. Alaekeiizie Forbes, Palmerston North, to William Gregor Mackenzie, AVaipukurau, youngest son of Air. and Mrs. A. Afaclkenzie, of Dannevirke. Lifter the ceremony, Pipe-Major Thompson, of AVanganui, and Mr. C. C. MacDonald, of Taihape, played them to their waiting car.
