CASE OF LOSS OF MEMORY.

With his memory completely gone, a middle-aged man walked into the residence of Mr. F. 0. Blowers, at Tai Tapu, on Saturday night (states the “'Chris tchurck Times”). He was unable to say whejre lie came from, or what had happened to .him, and gohld not even /remember his name. Although there are no signs of injury upon him, the police believe the lapse is due to a blow oil the head. 'Complete mystery still surrounded the man’s identity when inquiries were made late on Sunday night. Mr. {Blowers put the man up foil' the night, and communicated with the Lincoln, police in the morning. The constable at Lincoln brought the man into Christchurch on Sunday afternoon, when he was admitted to the hospital. Dr. T. L. Crook© examined him, and could find no signs of injury, although the man continually complained of a pain in the head. His speech is rambling, but he frequently says that lie has a wife, apparently naaned Lena, and a family. He also says he is a carpenter. Although the hospital authorities watched him closely, they weir© unable to get any further information, and nothing in the man’s possession supplies a clue to his identity. Twice on Sunday a des-. eription was broadcast from 3YA, but nothing bad resulted at a late hour that night. The following description is supplied by the police: His age is from 35 to 40 years; height, sft. lOin. He is of slight build and has sharp features. His eyes are blue, and nis hair dark. He was wearing grey trousers and coat and black Shoes when admitted to hospital.
