MOTOR CAR FATALITY
TWO IvLILED AND THREE INJURED.
Wellington, October 28.
A man and his wife were killed and three other persons were injured when a motor car in which they were proceeding up 'Whiteman’s Valley road went over’ a bank and crashed down the steep hillside into the gully Below at about four o’clock yesterday afternoon. The victims were:—■ Killed:—Mr Edward James Elton a plumber, aged 63 years; and Mrs Margaret Craig Elton, his wife, ’aged >63 years. Injured:—Mr Leonard Frank Barton, traveller; Mrs Alexa Margaret Larton; Lexy Barton, aged 5 vears.
Mr and Aliys Barton were son-in-jaw and daughter respectively of Air arid Mrs Elton. Lacerated wounds were suffered by lM|. Barton, while Mrs Barton escaped, with a .fractured ankle. After receiving medical attention, Mr and Mrs Barton were taken to their home at Coromandel S't. Their daughter Lexy, was taken to hospital '
