On Saturday night Tommy Donovan (Waitara) scored another knockout victory at Stratford, this time over Hector Leqkie, who proved the toughest’ opponent for Donovan so far.
Leekie had a. margin of points in the first round and the sixth was even, hut in all the others, Donovan was substantially ahead.
The end came in the eighth, when Leelkie was knocked down for the count. He rose too late, but was done in any case. Donovan sealed 8.11 and Decide 9.0. It was a sterling fight, witnessed by a ibig house.
