SEPTEMBER WjORKENG. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of September was 409,200 ft. which with the amount in the holder on September Ist 17,000 ft. made a total of 326,200 ft, During the month 339,600 ft. was used by consumers, 20,000 ft. at the works and there was 17,000 ft. in the holder on September 30th, making a total of 376,600 ft. accounted for and leaving 49,600 ft. representing. 11.17 per cent, .unaccounted for. Thirty-three tons 3 cwt. of coal were carbonised, yielding ,12.343 cjft. of gas to the ton find producing 7 tons of coke. The the month totalled .0171 11/11 and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £l3 3/10, heat and power £136 16/1, coke sales £l2 16/1, tar sales £sl 5/-, services and iittings £2 7/9, miscellaneous 13/2. The expenditure for the month totalled £203 11/4 and was made up as follows: —Coal £93 1/11, salaries and wages £4O 14/-, services and fittings £3 18/5, cartage and freight 2/-, repairs £2 17/9, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7/3.
