. A good -deal of local interest was evinced in the Palmerston... North - Wellington road cycle race this •morning and a number of people lined Main Street to see the competitors pass through the town, Beautiful sunshine with a slight following wind* made conditions ideal for the competitors. At 10.25 a.’in. : W.. Hussey, (70 min.), the local rider, passed through unaccompanied, his companion having broken down 'at Bainesse. •I. -Barrie (Levin) and S. Farmer (Christchurch) were not satrters. The other competitors came through in the following order:—

Franklyn (Wellington), 50-min. 10.53 a,mi.: D. 11. Hopewell (P.N.), S. 11. Ward (P.K), ,L HiU (P.N.), A. Christian (P.N.), all at 40min.; C. L. J. Simpson (Wellington), C. Forset (Wellington), J. Wyett (Wellington), S. Pninti (Wellington), all at 45min. 10.59 a.m.: C.,Alsou (P.N.), R, A. Sowby. (Feilding), 35min. 11.3 a.m.: 10. F. Hughes (Wellington), fiOinin. (Hughes had a break down at Bainesse).
11.5 a.m.: J. Campbell (Wellington), A. 'White (Wellington), 30 min. L. C. Beere (Wellington), dropped out of this group at Baine.sse owing to a mishap to his bike. 11.13 a.m.: L. Y. Heatley (New Plymouth), P. Sutherland (Wellington) , 25min., accompanied by D. Evans (Wellington), 20miu. 11.17 a.m.: W. Collins (P.N.), E* Blaikeway (Wairarapa), 17-min. .11.17 4 a.m.: ,F. Christiansen ( Wellington) 20jnin.
■ 11.19 a.m.: J. Moms (Wellington), W. Bray. (Wellington), D. Toomer (Weiling-ton), all on 15 min. C. Ericsson, |S. Wright, and S. Webber (all of Wellington), 10 min.
11.27 a.m.: L. G. Lukey (Christchurch), scratch and M. Gane (Wellington) 6min., who also left on scratch.'
11.32 a.m.: .T. L. Richards (ser.), held up with puncture 2 miles north of Foxton.
11.37 a.m.: E. F. Belrngu (Wellington), 15min. The latest information to hand on going to press was that Hussey was still leading by 20 -minutes at Porirua, Lukey lying third.
