Two'dogs created a mild sensation among a. party of young folk in Main Street on Sunday afternoon. Two young ladies and a number of young men had just walked up Clyde Street to the corner “of Main Street when two dogs commenced a fight on the Clyde Street footpath near the corner. In a few minutes several other dogs in the vicinity had joined in and a proper dog mix-up ensued. The howling, snapping bunch got dangerously near the group on the corner and -caused the feminine members to become frightened. Squeals could be beard above the snarls of the canine combatants. One of the girls dashed into the doorway of the corner ’ shop for safety but, unfortunately, the dog getting the worst of the argument also chose this haven. They all packed into the doorway and there bailed up their unfortunate member under the Very legs of the distressed damsel. (Squeals of fright gave way to screams of terror, the dogs fought on, the men kicked at the brutes and shouted. Pandemonium reigned and in the midst of it the girl Olid down to the pavement into oblivion. Finally the men were able to oust the dogs and extricate the young lady from her unenviable predicament. She soon recovered her senses and was little the worse for her experience. - ,
