PRIMATURE EXPLOSION
INJURES FIVE WORKMEN
ONE AN EN-FOXTON RESIDENT.

Five Public. Works men employed on the Lake Waikaremqana road works were warming gelignite in a tent on Saturday last, when a premature explosion occurred. All were injured, and three are in the hospital. Richard Dalhousie is suffering from -extensive burns. One of • his hands was shattered, and the arm had to be amputated. His condition is Serious. George Leckie had his left leg injured. Joseph Goldsmith suffered abrasions about the body and face. The other two were slightly hurt. Mr Richard .Dalhousie was formerly employed in the. flaxmilling industry in this distinct and was a member of the Employees’ Union.
