TOWN HALL. One of -the finest casts yet seen in a British film appears in the British Dominion’s film, “A South Sea Bubble,” coming to the Town Hall Cabaret on Friday. That great English actor, Ivor Novello, as Vernon Wjinslowe, a liappy-go-lueky young adventurer, plays with his usual attractive manner of well-' bred immobility. Plus a moustache and his undoubted good looks, this picture should further increase his popularity. Many people will remember petite Annette Benson, who scored a recent success in “Confetti,” as Lydia la Rue, a golddigging actress, the fair Annette does her best to capture the heart of Novello in this picture. She is certainly clev,er, and has a keen sense of eopiedy. Admirers of that finished actress, Alma Taylor, who endealred herself to millions in the old Hepworth productions, particularly “Cornin’ Thro’ the Rye,” will be glad to know that she has returned to the screen. She is as_attractive and graceful as ever, and doesn’t look a day older .' “A. South •Sea Bubble” is adapted from Roland Pcrtwee’s well-known story, “Treasure Trail.” Cabaret prices.
The search for happiness is the theme of -“New Year’s Eve,” Fox Film featuring Alary. Astor and Charles Morton. Miss Aster’s search leads her into much adventure and excitement in which a hundred dollar bill plays a prominent part. The film will be shown here on .Saturday night.
