SUCCESSFUL SALE OF WORK.
The sale of work and sociai afternoon held in the Town Hall sup-per-iroom yesterday, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Ladies Social Guild, was both a social and financial success. Among those present were representatives of all denominations. The stalls were as follows: Produce, in charge of Alesdames AFeEwan, Satherley and .Miss B. Spoil's; jumble, Alesdames /Barron and Martin; sweets, Alisses Ilortiblow, Patterson (2) and Stevenson; cake, Alesdames Alex. Ross and Stevenson; afternoon tea, Alesdames John Ross, Thomson, It. Horn'blow.nnd Misses M'cEwen, Satherley, L. Davy and E. Tollison; door steward: Aliss Littlejohn. Much appreciated vocal items were contributed by Mcsdames Docl, Cronquest, Riches and elocutionary items by Miss Stevenson. The accompaniments wclre played by Miss Patterson.
The ladies’ nail-driving competition was won by Airs. Owen, 'The Rev. Mr. Nicholas thanked all who had in any way contributed to thesnecess of the afternoon.
