ROAD THROUGH THE CEMETERY.

At Monday night’s meeting of the Foxton Borough Council Cr. D. R>. Barron brought up the question of laying down a suitable path through the cemetery and said this work was long overdue. He moved that tenders be called for the work.

The Mayor (Mr. M. E. Perreau) and ICY. R. J. Thompson opposed the suggestion on the grounds that the time was not suitable .for such work and that when the work was put in hand it should be carried out by the borough road staff. The motion, however, on being put to the meeting was carried and it was decided to call tender’s for a four foot tar-sealed path from the Avenue Road entrance to No. G line, specifications for the rvork to be prepared by the Works Committee.
