S.M. COURT.

MONTHLY SITTING. The monthly sitting of the local Magistrate’s (Court was held this morning before Mr. J. L. Stout; S.M. DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE. ICWenee Wilfred Coley was charged with driving a, motor ear without holding a driver’s license. Constable Owen, in evidence stated that on the date in question defendant was driving a motor car about Foxton and about 11 p.m. was arrested in a state of drunkenness in Cook Stlreet. He admitted he had no license. Accused was fined 10/- with costs 10/-. CYCLING iWITHOUT LIGHTS. Charles Walker, charged with riding a bicycle in the borough after dark was fined 5/- with costs 10/-. MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD RATE ROLL. No objections being received the. rate roll of the Moutoa Drainage Board was approved. ' CIVIL CASES. Judgment was given for plaintiff in the following civil undefended eases: —A. E. Tongs v. J. E. Sullivan, claim £6 11/2, costs £1 12/6; J. M. Thomson v. P. Boyland, £lO, costs £2 2/6; A. E. Tongs v. E. A. Malrtin £6 17/11, costs £1 10/6; J. Clhrystall v. 11. Hakaraia £46 16/-, costs £4 6/6; H. Holgerson v. Tuna Roiri £3 15/-, costs £1 10/6. • JUDGMENT SUMMONSES.

Midland Motors (Mr. Bergin) sought a judgment summons against S. A. Davey, of Foxton.

Davey entered the box and in evidence said-that he was working at a flaxmiil. He was single and earning between £3 15/- and £4 per week. He had visited Midland Motors on three occasions and tried to make arrangements with them. The summons urns for work done to witness’s motor cycle and lie was not prepared to pay for the work until he knew if everything was satisfactory. Midland Motors refused to give' him any trial. Witness was prepared to pay 10/- per week off the account. The S.M. said that he did not think it was a- fair thing for plaintiffs to hold defendant’s motor cycle while he was paying off the summons and made an order for 10/- per week conditional on the motor cycle being handed over to defendant.

John Dwyer was ordered to pay Dr. E, M. Wyllie £1 17/6 forthwith, in default three day’s imprisonment.

A charge of theft was preferred against a Native youth from. Bainesse in the Juvenile Court but the ease was dismissed.
