The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 31st ultimo, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: —
Hemp. —-Manila market weak and prices lower. Closing values for “J” grade September-November shipments £37 10/-. Sisal market quiet in sympathy with Manila. Sellers of good marks cpiote No. 1 £4l, No. 2 £4O for S‘ep-tember-November shipments, but buyers holding back. New Zealand. — Market quiet. Nominal comparative closing values are high points £35, fair £32, common £3O 10/-. Tow, second grade, £22; third grade, £l7 15/- for Sep-tember-November shipments.
