Two Ricearton women who visited the Canterbury Winter Show one afternoon received a shock when they returned home. They had gone to the show in the afternoon, in the belief that their house would be safer at that time from undesirable bailers than at night. Wihen they reached home they found that the whole place had been turned upside down, and a large amount of crockery in the house had been wantonly smashed.
