OCCUPANTS’ NARROW ESCAPE. Marton, August 19. The Railway hotel at Tnrakina was gutted by fire at six o’clock this morning. The occupants had a narrow escape. A bucket brigade did good work but the task was hopeless from the outset. A car in an adjoining gagage was removed to safety. Particulars as to the insurances are not available. The building was of one storey and of wood and was situated close to the railway station. No damage was done to the latter building.
