N.Z. FLAXMILLERS’ ASSO,(MAHON SLOGAN. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Flaxmillers’ Association, held on Thursday, 'a letter was received from Messrs Levin and (Co., enclosing a copy of a request received by them from a Lisbon resident, Portugal, asking for information in iregard to New Zealand flax, machinery and hemp manufacture together with photographs relative to the industry. Members took a segious view of the request. They considered New Zealand flax should be for New Zealand. To let such information pnd seed and plants out of the country was cutting the ground from uudeir the feet of the New Zealand millers. It was decided to urge the Government to promote legislation to prohibit the export of flax seeds, plants, machinery, etc., from the Dominion.
