NINE HOURS’ ORDEAL.

MAN WITH BROKEN LEG. Nelson, August' 15. After having a leg broken, W. Ricfcett, of Belgrove, remained lying on the ground for nine hours before assistance arrived. He was hauling a log down a gully with a team of horses when it struck a piece of timber and swung round, breaking one of his legs. The accident occurred at 11.30 on Tuesday morning, but Ricketts was not found until 8.30 that night. He was admitted to the Public. Hospital, Nelson, early yesterday morning, and is reported to be progressing satisfactorily.
