PRIME MINISTER’S HINT. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation from the North and South Island Motor Unions to-day asked Sir Joseph Ward not. to Avithdraw the. subsidy of £200,000 paid to the Main Highways Board from the Public Works fund. Sir Joseph Ward promised fullest consideration, but could not tell it Avould be forthcoming. Money required at the moment was far beyond the capacity of the Government to provide. There Avas a demand from the Government for everything, but there must come a lime when the .Government had to say no.
