MOTOR FATALITY.
DRIVER. CHARGED WITH DRUNKENNESS. Auckland, Last Night. Just aftefi alighting from a tramcar outside his house at Alorningside to-night, an elderly man named Samuel Leathern, a bricklayer, married, with a grown-up family, was knocked down by a butcher’s light van and killed. Subsequently IVViliiam David Weller, the driven of the van, was arrested on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor vehicle.
