The engagement is announced of Avis Unis, only daughter of Mr. aiid Mrs. 11. W. Satherley, Foxton, to Bertram, only soil of Mr. and the late Mrs. H. Chalk, of Hillary St., Foxton. The death occurred at the Otaki Hospital on Wednesday night of Mr. Mack’ C-ordello, aged 47 years. Deceased Avas at one time a, AvellknoAA’n footballer in this district. Death was due to pneumonia. A further death occurred at the institution yesterday morning of Mr. Dave Cootes, aged 54 years. Deceased was a son of Mr. Cootes, of Otalki, and was at one time a wellknown footballer. Death A\ T as due to heart failure.
The friends of Mr. C. A. Spring, •of Norbiton Road, will regret to learn that lie is seriously ill in Wanganui. Mjr. Spring Avent through to Wanganui some days ago to spend a holiday Avith his daughter, Mrs. Muse, but on the Avay through caught a chill and pleurisy set in. It was feared yesterday that Mr. Spring had also developed pneumonia and his family w j as sent for. This mojrning, however, he was reported to haA’e spent a fairly good night and AA T as a little better.
