THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 6ith instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Hemp.—Manila market dull. “J” grade for shipment to be in JulySeptemiber quoted sellers £37 5/-. Output Ist January to 30th June 871,000 bales against 702,000 for same period last year. Stocks in Manila at end of June 208,000 against 143,000. English 10,315 bales against 31,232 bales. Sisal. —Market quiet, closing easier. Shipment to be in JnlySeptember Tanganyika No. 1 quoted (Sellers £3B 15/-; No. 2, £36 15/-; Tanganyika No. 1 afloat sold down to £3B 10/-; No. 2 £36 10/-. New Zealand. —Market quiet. Small business has been done in high points June-August shipments £33 15/-; fair £3O 10/- values. Common £29. No. 2 toAV value £2l 10/-. No. 3 business has been done at £l7 10/-.
