WEDDING
BROWN—SYMON. An interesting event took place in the Salvation Army Hall on Wednesday, 3rd July, when Edgar James Banks, only son of Mrs. and the late. Mr. P. W. Brown, of Foxton, and Maud Mary Emmaline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Symon, of Gladstone Street, Foxton, were united in matrimony at which StaffCaptain Hayes officiated, assisted by Captain Matheson. The hall was tastefully deico/ratod under the direction of Mrs. Captain Matheson. The bride who entered the hall on the arm of her father, to the strains of the Wedding March, played by Mi’s. Captain" M/ntheson, wotre a frock of navy crepe-de-chene with the white sash, and carried a bouquet of white flowers. She was attended by Miss F. 'Symon as bridesmaid, wearing a navy crepe,-de-’ehene frock and white sash, and carried a bouquet of autumn foliage and flowers. The bridegroom who wore Salvation Army uniform, was supported by Mr. G. Coley as best man. After the wedding the bridal party adjourned to the Town Hall supper-room, where sixty guests sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast provided by Mrs. Walls. Numerous telegrams were read and the usual toasts duly honoured. The young couple received a large number of beautiful and useful presents, showing in what esteem they were held lo r a large circle of friends and relatives.
After the wedding breakfast the happy pair, after being pelted with good wishes and •confetti, left for the North where they will spend their lioneyfmoon, after which they will take up their residence in Foxton.
