BENEFIT FOOTBALL MATCH.
IN AID OF EARTHQUAKE FUND. FOXTON SENIORS v. WANGANUI PIRATES. Mr. Fred. Robinson, coach of the Foxton Rugby senior team, knowing that the local senior team had a bye on Saturday next, communicated with Dr. Adams, of Wanganui, to ascertain whether a match could be arranged at Foxton with a Wanganui senior team in a benefit match in aid of the earthquake fund. Dr. Adams fell in with the suggestion and has arranged for the Pirate dub to send a senior team to meet Foxton seniors. Mr. Robinson has obtained the sanction of the District Union for the match to be played on Easton Park on Saturday afternoon and that all gate proceeds, after paying the travelling expenses of the visiting team, will go towards the earthquake fund. The admission to the ground will be 1/- and it is hoped that there will be a record attendance. Both teams are in the top flights in their respective unions and the game should be both spectacular and exciting. Mr. W. Neville will control the match.
