t At last night’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board the architect reported that the Manawatu County Council had removed the hillside facing the Rangiotu school and had used the spoil, etc., for road tilling. He had called at the Manawatu County ofliice and made enquiry as to the authority for undertaking such work. The Chairman; The Board has not given any authority to the County Council for /what it has done. The architect said he understood that permission had ‘been given by the school co|nmiittee. The Chairman: The school committee has m> jurisdiction. Mr. Mornblpw stated that he had, noticed that the hillside had been removed and naturally thought the Board had granted the necessary permission. All'. Coleman: There will be a bill for someone to pay. The architect said, that jtillmg was required for portion of the playing area and returfing would be required and a shed had been undermined. it was decided that the chairman and secretary inspect the work and make full investigation, and report to the Board.
